Milbourne Stone Tower

A garden folly, the first of a series of projects spanning nearly ten years in the evolution of a 29 acre property for a client enamored of the English landscape tradition and medieval architecture, and deeply committed both to this place and to a collection of local builders and artisans. This and each subsequent project allowed_ in fact required_ an engagement with material and craft at the highest levels, a willingness to explore and experiment, and an openness to redirection as construction unfolded.
