“In the projects where Read & Company has provided us with architectural services, we have found the firm to be very responsive to the unique challenges of the particular project. Where design is the most critical criteria, they deliver appropriate options for our consideration. Where technical aspects need to be solved, they draw upon their broad knowledge of the science of building to recommend solutions to the problem at hand. They have been able to do this in a manner that responds to our often-compressed schedules and that meets our budget goals for the project. However, beyond these very compelling reasons for working with Read & Company, we find the honesty and integrity with which they approach their work to be the most important factor to commission them for our work. While many architects are hesitant to speak directly about issues related to budget difficulties, code compliance, scope creep, etc. Fritz and his employees approach these matters up-front and in a manner that helps keep the focus on problem solving and making sure there are not surprises related to avoiding these issues as they arise.”

“As Assistant Director for Facilities Planning and Construction at the University of Delaware I have had the opportunity to work directly with Read & Company on a number of campus projects. It is from this vantage point I would like to share my perspective of the firm and its ability to navigate the sometimes choppy waters of academic projects with their restricted resources, limited schedules and multiple stakeholder interests. In 2003, Read & Company completed the renovation of the university’s central computing center. The center is home to the institution’s computing mainframe operation, network systems , program development and IT administration. The project had a number of challenges not the least of which was to build consensus within a set timeframe among the various factions resident in the 24/7 facility.”

“The size of Read & Company, in my opinion, belies its true production capability, as all of the employees are professionals and are both capable and empowered to make independent decisions. As an owner’s representative, I have never hesitated to include them on invited lists that include firms with much larger staff counts. I have been particularly happy to include them when the project calls for a thoughtful and distinctive architectural design solution.”

"I am sure that the wonderful vibe to the start of this 125th year of the Bryn Mawr School is due, in no small part, to the fantastic new lower school. Your creativity has led to a truly magical space which blends the best of the old with perfect elements of the new. The result is an ideal setting for the education of our younger girls. We will be eternally grateful for your patience in leading us throuth a lengthy planning process and helping us arrive at the very best place for our institution. Personally, and on the belhalf of the Board of Trustees, I extend my heartfelt thanks!"
