The full renovation and alteration of an Baltimore town house, built ca1860, returning to single-family use a property that through the years had been occupied as an apartment building, a medical office, and most recently as a phone bank and call center.

The front sections of the house, both interior and exterior, had remained relatively unscathed by earlier renovations, and so were restored as nearly as possible to their original condition. Sections of the house toward the rear had been modified extensively over time, and were originally much more utilitarian and less-fully ornamented than the front rooms, so these were extensively modified again, to provide a degree of internal openness and of connection to the exterior lacking in this, and most other, townhouses of this type. Upon completion, the project was honored with an AIA Baltimore Design Award.
